Car Accident Compensation 27/7/2010

During a road traffic accident, or any similar incident, an injured motorist, passenger or pedestrian may claim car accident compensation, since car accidents may cause trauma, though the material damage might not be severe. The compensation from injuries—whether physical such as bruises or broken limbs or psychological—varies. The most common compensation is the whiplash claim—the damage to the neck inflicted by a quick and violent ‘whiplash effect’ or the forward-backward motion of the head during a car crash.

At the very least, car accident compensation may comfort the victim. It may even help recover some or most of the losses. The afflicted group or individuals then should not hesitate to take practical steps and seek legal advice to properly pursue the car accident claim, given that they are eligible for the compensation.

Precautions, however, can be taken since a car accident may happen anytime. Preparations for the probable car crash, or any similar incident, include keeping things in the car that could be used for documentation purposes of the possible accident: 1) a camera, for taking photographs of the incident scene in various angles. This could aid you and the injury solicitors to document the car accident and to make the compensation easier; and 2) a pen and a notepad, to record and unfold the details of the accident.

The following should be noted as these data might be useful in the compensation claims process: 1) other people involved (drivers, passengers, servicemen, victims and witnesses present at the accident scene, etc.); 2) the profile and condition of the people involved (full names, addresses, numbers, injuries afflicted / caused, and other relevant details related to the accident, etc); 3) the time when the accident happened; 4) the weather conditions during the occurrence of the accident; and 5) other details that might be of importance upon claiming car accident compensation like the presence of other indicators, the documentation of the other party, and if they were on their mobile phones or whether they were intoxicated prior and/or during the accident, or sober.

The claim for car accident compensation can be obtained either from the insurance company, had the afflicted party been insured. Otherwise, the compensation should be sought from the Motor Insurance Bureau (or any similar office).
